RapidFire’s technology will bring in-game advertising to the 4th installment of the hit game franchise RollerCoaster Tycoon®, and allow Atari to monetize ad space inside of its game in a way that’s measurable and scalable.
Vancouver, BC – September 2, 2014: RapidFire, the industry’s leading in-game advertising network, announced today a key partnership with Atari that will bring dynamic in-game advertising (DIGA) into the recently launched RollerCoaster Tycoon® 4. The partnership will help bring an additional recurring revenue stream to the hit game which was released earlier this year in April on iOS devices, and will be released on Android in mid-October of this year.
RapidFire’s technology, known as the Radial Network™, allows advertisements to be streamed in real-time inside of a video game’s 3D environment on objects such as billboards, hoardings, bus stops, and posters – essentially any object inside of a game where a player is likely to see an advert in real life.
RollerCoaster Tycoon® 4 will be the first game from the hugely popular franchise to be fully released on just mobile devices. Past iterations from the franchise have been released solely on Microsoft Windows and console platforms. This will also be one of the first Mobile exclusive games to join the RapidFire Network – as the network has so far had a primary focus on console and computer video games.
Although RapidFire’s SDK and technology supports both iOS and Android games, there has traditionally been limitations with the graphics of most mobile games in their ability to support native in-game advertising that is built into a game’s 3D environment. The unique gameplay and strong graphics of RollerCoaster Tycoon® 4 however overcomes many of these historic limitations, and contextually having billboard type advertisements fits perfectly into the environment of an amusement park game.
“It’s been a real treat working with our partners at Atari, as well as with the dev team at On5,” says Jordan L. Howard, Co-Founder and CEO at RapidFire. “Since the beginning of our talks there was such collaborative excitement and eagerness from all sides, and we look forward to making this a success and it will be interesting to see how the first ever mobile platform exclusive game on our network handles dynamic in-game advertising.”
