To raise awareness for Movember, EA Sports is donating half a million dollars worth of in-game advertising to the global campaign. EA will be running Movember ads throughout November, in FIFA 13, NHL 13, and Madden 13. The ads are set to geo-target a global audience, in which millions of gamers worldwide will be exposed to the ads.
The funds raised by the Movember Foundation (Movember.com) are used to support men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer and male mental health initiatives. As per the tradition, ‘Mo Bros’ commit to growing a moustache for the 30 days of Movember, and in doing so become walking and talking billboards for the cause.
There are many ways in which people can get involved with Movember. One is to register as a Mo Bro or Mo Sista, and raise funds and awareness yourself or donate to someone you know who is participating. People can also attend various events such as Gala Partés and Mo Parties or host their own event in honour of Movember.
